Celebrating Pakistan’s 61st!
Thursday, August 14, 2008 13:56In case you haven’t noticed, there is an online movement to portray a positive image of Pakistan. An online collaborative movement by bloggers and others who appreciate the power of the internet and realize that no change is going to happen on its own - the change has to be created, inspired and disseminated.
On the 14th day of August, we salute the individuals and groups that set aside their different beliefs and mores, and write stories about what is really happening on the ground in Pakistan. Someone once told me that in times of war, you hear all the bad things; but in times of peace, you never hear all the good. I can’t tell whether we’re at war or peace, but we certainly don’t have this tremendous effort called the WWW, on our side.
The news we read about Pakistan is written by people who live in it; the stories we read are told by people who don’t care for it. In an age of Citizen’s Journalism and Web 2.0, one can only hope that our team not only has strong technical skills, but also powerful communication skills.
We, at Netxpress and Rasala Publications Group, continue to salute the bloggers and the individuals that inspire change through the New Media. Thank you. Pakistan Zindabad.
