Italy to strengthen collaboration with SMEDA

LAHORE: Italian Ambassador in Pakistan Vincenzo Parati has assured to strengthen collaboration with Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) for promotion of business relations between Italian Machinery Manufacturers and SMEs in Pakistan.

While exchanging his views with SMEDA Chief Executive Officer Shahid Rashid, the ambassador hoped that SMEDA-UNJDO investment unit to be set up in SMEDA through an Italian government grant of 1,418,200 Euros will play pivotal role to achieve the target. The ambassador was accompanied by his spouse Mrs Parati and George Manuel, Secretary Honorary Consulate of Italy in Lahore. The ambassador disclosed that over 90,000 Pakistanis were living in Italy and working on good positions in business and industry. They can also play very important role in promotion of bilateral business relation between Pakistan and Italy, he said.
